Changing your email
Open the tab with your name, then Security, and tap Change email.
First, confirm it's you, the same way as deleting your account: your password, a code from your authenticator app if two-step sign-in is on, or signing in with Google or Apple again.
Then type your new email and tap Send link. We send a link to the new address, and a note to your current one so you know it's happening. Nothing changes until you open the link, which works for 24 hours. Until then, Security says where it's going, with Resend if the email hasn't come and Cancel to keep your email as it is.
Once you open the link, you sign in with the new address, and our emails go there, help replies and receipts included. Your old address gets nothing more from us.
If you sign in with Google or Apple, that keeps working as before: your Google or Apple account keeps its own address. That includes an Apple Hide My Email address.
If we say an address can't be used, try another one. Got a note about a change you didn't ask for? Sign in, open Security, tap Cancel, and change your password.
Your email isn't confirmed yet? Fix a mistyped one on the confirm screen instead, and a fresh link goes to the new address.
